Just returned from my hols... apart from Stratford, we decided to explore North Yorkshire as well (having never been to EVERYWHERE in my own country).
Stayed in a number of hotels, the worst being at York, second worst was Stratford - suposed to be a 4*, having stayed in (cheaper) hotels in many other countries...I was shocked at the standard - what must the yanks think of us?!?!
Poor furbishment, poor food, surly staff (probably 'cos they are on minimum wage). Maybe they see British hotels as quaint? I just see them as shabby, old fashioned and over-priced...and don't get me started on London - why the hell do people go there?
Lets face it...the British are crap at commercial hospitality!
Rant over!
Hiya everybody, by the way...brought y'all a stick of Blackpool rock back!
Wow, your the second person that says this. My girlfriend visited Europe with her mother, and she also said that some areas smelled bad. She also had something to say about Spain, and the water. I will find out for myself soon, good thing I will be staying with friends, and not in a hotel.
Sarah - Can I check your comely b.. now?
So that's where you were!
