It’s 24 hours before the storm is due to reach us and I’m not sure how long we’ll have power as I’m theoretically at ground zero just south of Tampa in Sarasota. Me and my dog 🐶 Honey, 5-yr-old Cockapoo, are preparing? but not so sure exactly how effective it’s going to be. I have hurricane shutters.
If I have time to whip up some NFL Pickem guesses I might toss something together.

Thanks George and Edgar. Forecast is pretty ugly. I’m not in an overly risky area and far enough away from the coast as far as the storm surge. Our roof is in good shape as are our neighbors. Locally, the debris from Helene was all picked up, limiting the amount of projectiles.
Power lines are all underground here. I’m hoping if and when we lose power, that it won’t be for too long. Guess I’ll by reading my book by candlelight. Oops, better look for candles! Got good flashlights, gasoline and dog food.

The eye is passing over so it’s quiet. But soon the other side has to come over now. It was pretty bad for awhile. The wind was howling but no damage here. My dog blamed me for all the noise. Luckily she went to bed.
