How do you arrange your personal books at home?

All my exterior walls are covered with books laid on their sides and stacked like bricks as an effective form of insulation and any gaps are filled with torn up newspaper. When I buy a book I primarily consider its R-value.

I own very few books, as well, mainly art and language-learning and I don't need to sort or shelve them in any particular order. My husband, however, is a fantasy novel nerd and has his organized by author in chronological order. Don't know why he bothers as he never reads a book twice. He also has a zillion on (old-times) blues, blues musicians, guitars, bridge, poker, and rocks, of course. Don't know how he organizes those.

I think I see what you did there. So, basically like my "organization" of books. In random piles in my bedroom.

Thematically

I usually arrange my books by non-fiction, fiction, and documentary and photo albums. However my husband rearranged all the books after I had some of the bookshelves refinished, and now I can't find anything......it steams me every once and a while.
