Nonprofit holds spotted lanternfly egg hunt at Randall's Island Park

More context on the invasive species in the US:
Stopping the spotted lanternfly in its tracks
First detected in Berks County, Pennsylvania, in 2014, the spotted lanternfly has now spread to 15 states, leaving destruction in its wake. Its population is particularly large across New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.

But, the invasive insect is more than an annoying bug on your windshield. It poses a major threat to the ecosystem health and to important regional agricultural economies, especially apple orchards and vineyards.

I'm wondering if they'll find spotted lanternflies in Canada in a year or two? Anyone else dealing with this problem?

Googled it, most reports are about America or what to do if it arrives here.

So far OK.

Spotted lanternfly is native to Southeastern Asia, including parts of China, Taiwan, and Vietnam. It is an invasive pest in Japan, South Korea, and more recently, the U.S.

So, if they do come to the UK, it won't be via migration but in the hold of some cargo ship. Here's hoping you never get this invasive species. I suspect you might have your own invasive species problem that hasn't made it to North American shores... yet.
