Here's an Internet tip to read newspapers without subscribing

I just saw this on Youtube and managed to read an article in the Washington Post, which I don't subscribe to.

In the url, before the www, you type in "archive.is/". Then just click on the link.

I tried it the first day you posted it and couldn't get it to work...figured I was a klutz and left it at that. But thanks, Mame, it was a nice gesture!

Many newspapers will allow you to read a few articles before hitting the paywall. I open an incognito window and that resets the counter.

You just need to click on an article in a paper you don't subscribe to and then modify the URL.

Good old web browsing whack-a-mole. Works for sites that sniff out ad-blockers too... for now.

Worked for me, just pasted archive.is/ before the www and was able to read the article Razz

I tried it on both The New York Times and The Washington Post, worked both times.

Does it first go to a separate search page for you? It does for me, and oddly, one said "no results", but the second one produced a link which did go to a readable version of the link. Both tries were wapo articles.
