two US coins add up to 30 cents, but one of them isn't a nickel....what are they?

two people are holding marbles. If person #1 takes one marble from person #2 he has double #2's marbles, but if person #2 takes one of person #1's, they both have the same amount. How many marbles does each person have?

The other one is a nickel

n0+1=2(n1-1)=2n1-2
n0-2n1=-3
n0-1=n1+1
n0-n1=2
-n1=-5
n1=5
n0=n1+2=5+2=7
so one has 5 marbles, the other 7
