Should marijuana be legal everywhere?

With how well it's working here and raising more tax money, wouldn't it be better to just legalize it everywhere?

@ChemDawg,
I don’t smoke it but I’m going to agree with Debra Law’s response in this thread.
Should marijuana be legal?

Quote:
Prohibition of alcohol did not work. It only spurred the creation of vast criminal syndicates that took advantage of the prohibition to make money by manufacturing and selling the prohibited substance. Prohibition led to murders, shoot-outs, turf wars, bribery, etc. The harm caused by prohibition was far worse than the alleged harm it sought to prevent (but did not prevent because people who wanted to drink alcohol still drank alcohol).

Today, our war on drugs is likewise causing far more problems than it seeks to prevent.

It's working well in my state as well. But Congress has to take it off the drug classification list. Besides it being absurd to rank it as dangerous as heroin, being classified as a Schedule I substance makes it impossible for retailers to accept anything other than cash. In addition LSD and MDMA have been shown to have medical value and should be reclassified.

@jcboy,
I forgot about Debra Law - she was amazing!

To answer the OP question: yes it should be legal everywhere. I am in California and it has always been part of a recreational crowd, even when
it wasn't legal yet.

I personally don't smoke it, but I can understand when others do!

@CalamityJane,
Yes she was, I recall her popping back in a few years ago. If I remember correctly she was a retired lawyer living in Los Angeles.
