I need help on these two math puzzles

Ok, here are the two mind puzzling math problems:

1) IF a 1/3 of 10 is 3, then what would a 1/4 of 20 be?

2)If 2+2=4 and 2*2=4 what other number can you add and multiply together to make the same number. It cannot be zero, negative, or a decimal.

HELP!!! I am thinking the answer for the first one is 4.5 (but the true 1/4 of 20 is 5)....and I have no clue about the second one!

Its simple.

1st question is virtually given but it you see in reality it is not possible as 1/3 of 10 could not be 3
but if you try to answer it anatically you get it!
What they virtually mean by 1/3 of 10 is 10 divided by 1/3 and again divided by 10 so you get 3.

And 1/4 of 20 is 20 divided by 1/4 ,divided by 10 so you get the answer 8.

Second question is unbelivably easy!
infinite*infinite=infinite infinite+infinite=infinite

Bye

A couple of possible answers on 1.)
I would say it is rounding to the nearest whole number.. 1/3 of 10 is 3.333 rounded to 3. The correct answer would be 5. Or it could be truncated which would still make it 5. The difference between the 2 would be 1/3 of 20 would be 7 if rounded, 6 if truncated.

2.) It doesn't say anything about not using fractions.

Actually,
I finally figured out the answer to #1

it is 4.5...if 1/3 of 10 is 3 than 1/4 of 20 would be 4.5.

(3*3=9, 10-9=1, 10/20=20, 20-2=18, 18/4=4.5)

I still do not know the answer to #2 though,...you can use fractions.

PS- Infinite is not the answer he said.

and I meant 20/10=2

I agree with parados on the answer to the first one. It just looks like rounding to me. On the second one, what they are asking is for the solution to this equation

x^2 = 2x

The only answers are 0 and 2.
