Consider the linear transformation S:M_n(R) ------> M_n(R) defined by

S(A) = A + A*T where A is an n by n matrix.

(a). Find Ker(S) and describe it.

(b). In particular case when A is a 2 by 2 matrix, determine a basis for Ker(S) and hence find its dimension.
