You may not have known her name, but you probably knew her voice. She sang The Girl from Ipanema.

She had such a lovely voice. I still think of her as the young woman who sang with Stan Getz...................her voice was so soothing. Rest in Peace

Yup, her voice was just perfect for bossa nova.

It was so amazing to see The Girl from Ipanema climb the charts and eventually reach number five right in the midst of the "British Invasion".

Anytime I see the tune performed live and musicians are improvising over the chord structure I pay close attention to how the handle the bridge – it's really tricky!
