While I would not call anyone here a member of the set 'the set of science idiots', there is no doubt that a scientist already on the site may feel that a person, me, automatically places him in the set, which includes all scientists. However, I am unable to place him in such a set because the term 'all' is not admissable in a set as sets do not count or work as mathematical functions.
This is not to say that, just as numbers are said to continue indefinitely, scientists could also be a member of the variable set, 'the set of morons, half-wits, retards...' and so on indefinitely, continuing just like numbers, until the correct case applies. However, this process would not be acceptable. Not least because there is no mathematical injunction for a number to continue 'indefinitely', and so neither is there an injunction to regard scientists as members of a variable set we might name as 'the set of failings'.
The First Law of Philosophy: For every philosopher, there exists an equal and opposite philosopher.
The Second Law of Philosophy: They're both wrong.
How many philosophers does it take to replace a light bulb?
Three. One to change it, and two to argue over whether or not the light bulb really exists.
Fourth law of Philosophy: Mathematics and other sciences are a wank; the world is divided into three groups - those who understand your brilliance and those who don't!
