If f and g are continuous functions with f(3) = 5 and the limit of
[2(f(x) - g(x)] = 4 as x--->3, find g(3).
Hmmm... 2 ( f(3) - g(3) ) =4 and f(3) = 5. Are you sure you need help with this? Of course it is possible that g(3) is undefined, but the limit of g(x) as x->3 is 2.
