Only slightly related to the topic, during the World Cup, there was a contentious interview of the US team captain by Iranian reporters. They called him out for mispronouncing the name of the country, saying “Eye-Ran” instead of “Eeh-Rahn” (which is a very typical mistake in the US thanks to President G. W. Bush). He thanked them for correcting him.
