CNN News Alert:
Europe opens major probe into Elon Musk’s X after outcry over sexualized images

The European Union has launched a wide-reaching investigation into Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot on X following global outrage over its ability to generate sexually explicit images, including of children.

The scandal erupted at the end of last year when the AI chatbot churned out a barrage of digitally undressed images of women and children in response to requests from users.

The global outcry that followed was met by an initial announcement by X that the tool would be limited to paying subscribers, but the company eventually prevented all users from using Grok to create images of real people in revealing clothing.

French headquarters of Elon Musk’s X raided by Paris cybercrime unit
Prosecutors summon tech billionaire and company’s ex-CEO for questioning as part of expanded investigation

Prosecutors have raided the French headquarters of Elon Musk’s social media platform X and summoned the tech billionaire and the company’s former chief executive for questioning as part of an investigation into alleged cybercrime.

“A search is under way by the cybercrime unit of the Paris prosecutor’s office, the national police cyber unit and Europol,” the Paris prosecutors’ office said in a post on X on Tuesday, adding that it would no longer be publishing on the network.

It added in a statement that Musk and Linda Yaccarino had been summoned for voluntary questioning “in their capacity as de facto and de jure managers of the X platform at the time of the events”. Yaccarino resigned as CEO of X in July last year.

The prosecutor’s office said it was examining “alleged complicity” in offences related to the platform, including the spreading of child abuse images and sexually explicit deepfakes, the denial of crimes against humanity and manipulation of an automated data processing system as part of an organised group.

Tesla's German factory in Grünheide is pressing charges against an external trade union member. The company said he was caught recording a confidential meeting without permission; the IG Metall union called this a lie.

@Walter Hinteler,
The dispute at Tesla's Gigafactory in Brandenburg continues to escalate.
IG Metall has filed criminal charges against the head of the Tesla plant in Grünheide for defamation. In addition, according to a statement released on Tuesday, the union has applied to the Frankfurt (Oder) labour court for a temporary injunction against the managing director.
The aim is to prohibit André Thierig from further spreading false claims, it said.

The union is also preparing a lawsuit for obstruction of union work. IG Metall is responding to accusations made by Thierig against a union employee last week.

Elon Musk's ideology is ultimately all about political influence and maximising wealth.
The Tesla committees approved a share package for him that could make him the first trillionaire in history. This makes it all the more worrying that his representatives in Grünheide are apparently trying to exert massive influence on the works council elections. For example, they are said to have given the impression that the plant would not be expanded if IG Metall won the election. Such actions are an attack on an economic model in which workers' rights count.

@Walter Hinteler,
The fight against trade unions is part of Tesla's corporate doctrine. In the world of CEO Musk, they are annoying troublemakers whose mere existence is a serious encroachment on his entrepreneurial freedom.

From 2 to 4 March, around 10,700 employees will vote on their representation on the works council.

This also raises the question of whose rules apply: those of Musk, who has always tried to keep unions out of his electric car company, or those of the German social partnership, in which employee representatives have a say in wages and corporate policy.

Elon Musk’s Secret Web of Companies in Texas [NYT. Without paywall

The megabillionaire was tied to about 90 companies in the state, which he uses for everything from paying nannies to buying land to supporting Donald Trump’s re-election, according to a Times examination.
Quote:
In 2020, Elon Musk announced he was moving to Texas from California and embarking on a personal austerity campaign to strip his life of belongings.

“I am selling almost all physical possessions,” he posted on social media. “Will own no house.”

But in the years since, Mr. Musk, 54, has quietly built an empire of more than 90 companies and other legal entities in Texas, which have amassed a vast collection of assets, according to an examination by The New York Times.

Elon Musk loses case against OpenAI

Elon Musk waited too long to sue OpenAI and its leaders, a jury in Oakland, California, decided on Monday. A lawsuit he filed was barred by the statute of limitations, the jury found after about 90 minutes of deliberation.

Musk’s case threatened to derail the ChatGPT maker as it planned what could be a blockbuster IPO.

Elon Musk said he was taking legal action against one of Germany's public broadcasters after it reported that he had called for "a hunt for migrants" in Belfast.

Musk to sue German broadcaster ZDF over 'hunt for migrants'
Quote:
Elon Musk, the world's first trillionaire, has announced legal action against German public broadcaster ZDF for a report that he said misrepresented his position.

The broadcaster had highlighted Musk's role in encouraging anti-migrant protests in Northern Ireland that turned violent.

"Legal action is being taken against ZDF for their outrageous lies," Musk said in a post on his social network X on Monday.

The Northern Ireland protests were encouraged by British far-right extremist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon — better known by the pseudonym Tommy Robinson — as well as Restore UK founder Rupert Lowe.
Quote:
Musk shared posts from these two figures to his 240 million followers on X.

"Only by protesting REPEATEDLY and LOUDLY will there be any change!!" Musk added in one of his posts on June 9.

Three days later, ZDF broadcast a half-hour segment covering the riots on its online news program ZDFheute live.

"A racist mob went on a hunt for migrants," the anchor said in introducing the segment. "This was called for by a British right-wing extremist and tech millionaire Elon Musk."

This 28-second clip was then shared on X by right-wing journalist Julian Reichelt, a former editor-in-chief of German tabloid-style newspaper Bild until he was fired in 2021 after reports of misconduct toward female employees.

Reichelt subsequently shared a screenshot that he presented as a response from the broadcaster, which he called for to be "dismantled."

In the post, ZDF appeared to defend its report but conceded that the host's choice of words was "imprecise" and "misleading."

"In its June 12, 2026, episode, ZDFheute live examined the role played by Elon Musk and right-wing influencers like Tommy Robinson in the run-up to the violent protests in Belfast. Tommy Robinson had called for protests. Elon Musk had shared the call to protest," the statement read.

"The host intended to succinctly summarize the complex situation surrounding the violent protests and the prior calls for protests on X at the beginning of the very comprehensive and nuanced 30-minute program. However, the wording chosen was imprecise and therefore misleading."

ZDF, which stands for Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (Second German Television) is one of two nationwide public networks in Germany. It is in large part funded by the television license fees.

@Region Philbis,
‘Man-eating snail fly’ is the literal translation of Cochliomyia hominivorax, the Latin name for the New World screwworm.

The stock price of SpaceX is in free fall.
Now, the world's richest man is no longer a tech billionaire, but merely a tech billionaire.

A truly pitiful, poor man.
