Stephanie Plum novels

I am also a fan.

I have read all of Janets books. I have a very specific visualisation of Stephanie and I think she is pretty in her Jersey way but not absolutely beautiful. Plus she is a little off-the-wall and goofy at times as well as sexy and vulnerable. The only actress that I would like to see playing Stephanie would be .... Sandra Bullock, if she could tease her hair and 'act' Jerseyish.

It really creeped me out when Kathleen Turner did the part of VI Warshawski from Sara Paretskys novels. If the movie was not getting the "feel" of the books then it would be crap in my eyes. The very thing I like about the books are the characters and the zingers they come out with.

I would have wanted Estelle Getty as Grandma Mazur.

I like your choices. I also could see Marissa Tomei playing Stephanie, Benjamin Bratt as Joe, Sherri Shepard as Lula, Alice Drummond as Grandma Mazur and Joe Pesci as Vinnie Plum.

I don't know. I think The Rock is too big/bulky and not mysterious enough to do it. It needs to be somebody who looks cuban, has a well-muscled but not bulky body and is only a little taller than Stephanie. And he doesn't need to be a pretty boy. I am thinking a broken nose or a scar on the face would make him hotter.

Definitely, I totally agree with the scar. I think Antonio Banderas in his younger days might have made a good fit. Sometimes when she mentions his mysterious smile though I can picture Johnny Depp, but I don't know if he'd fit the rest of the character.

oh my god. when i first read the stephanie plum novels i was hooked. i could sit on my couch and read on and on. i've recently finished reading number eleven mid august. when i began reading i visualized benjamin bratt as morelli. i didn't think anyone thought so too. i think he would fit the part.

There'sm just something so sexy about Benjamin Bratt. :-D

Recently my mother and I were discussing who should portray the characters in movies. This is what we came up with:

Stephanie: Sandra Bullock
Morelli: George Eads (from CSI: Las Vegas)
Ranger: Naveen Andrews (from Lost)
Grandma Mazure: the woman who played grandma Yetta on "the Nanny"
Connie: Megan Mullally
Lula: Lil' Kim

Although these are just wishes.. I heard that Reese Witherspoon has been cast as Stephanie Plum. I don't know how I feel about that. I picture her more as Valerie than Stephanie.

I absolutely love these book. So far have read books 1-6 and am making my way through the 7th one right now.

I can't place famous celeb faces as the characters, it just blows the images that I have conjured up in my head right out the window.

I'm such a big fan of these books, too! I don't want to read something else! I like the characters so much that it feels as they were real! Sometimes I want to talk to them! *lol* No, I'm just kidding!
But while reading I have such a detailed picture of each one... hehe

and now tothe question: 10 years older and I would see myself in the part of Stephanie! That's no joke now! This figure and me have soooo much in common, unbelievable! Frankly speaking, when I read a book. I see myself there! :wink:

In the offisial page of Evanovich , there is a --- I don't remember right words- it's lige a lot of names and you can pick one for ranger and one for joe and one for granma mazur and for lula and vinnie ( I think jonny dep would do a great vinnie ) There is somethig like -- if there wuol'd be a one for the money movie who vul'd you like to see as ranger , joe , stephanie ... and so on...

Hello, I'm a french student ( so sorry because my english is not very good) . I've read all Plum's novel which are plublished in France (1 to 6)
and I LOVE stephanie plum , but in fact I prefered Joe Morelli who looks very handsome ... .... For me when I imagine Morelli he looks like Jake Gylenhaal ( i'm certainly the only woman who imagine Jake Gylenhaal as Joe morelli. As ranger , I agree a person who imagine naveen andrews (but with shorter hair) .
As Stephanie Plum , I saw a french actress called Sarah Forestier .

Ok, it will require a little Googling to see the casting, but it is worth your time. I think I have hit on all of the requirements. Because I believe that the popularity of the character will draw audiences I haven't tried to make big stars fit into roles that don't work for them. Enjoy...

David Boreanaz - Joe Morelli (I'm willing to negotiate here, but Joe needs to be brooding and smoldering, not pretty)
Nicholas Gonzalez- Ranger (young, but yummy)
Mo'Nique - Lulu ('nuff said)
The Rock- Tank (but you have to be careful not to have him overshadow Ranger)
Joe Pesci - Vinnie
Marissa Tomei - the secretary (amusing but paying homage to their chemistry)
