Kenya man offers dowry for Chelsea's hand
July 28, 2005 (NAIROBI, Kenya) ?- How does 40 goats and 20 cows sound for Chelsea Clinton's hand in marriage?
A Kenyan city councilman (Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor) says he made former President Bill Clinton that offer five years ago. He's still awaiting for an answer.
The councilman tells the East African Standard newspaper that he's vowed to remain single until gets word on marrying Chelsea. The African official promises a grand wedding for the first daughter.
He adds the offer of goats and cows is a traditional African dowry.
