Keith Chegwin was a bit of a tortured soul, a kid's tv presenter who hit rock bottom as an alcoholic, had a brief revival fronting weird shows called the Naked Jungle, where he and all the contestants were nude. It lasted one episode, too many tasks, like climbing up a rope, involved camera from the bottom of the rope looking up at various orifices opening and closing.

Nobody could ever accuse Keith Chegwin of being cool, but he was too cool for this band and turned down a chance to join them. I don't know if Kellogg's benefitted from product placement, or should have sued for bringing their product into disrepute.

This is another controversial piece, it was released in July 1973 and got to number 39 in the UK charts before being withdrawn as it coincided with a bombing campaign by the IRA.

This is why the Clash are "The only band that matters." It sums up the frustration of a whole generation, but it was only to get worse under Thatcher.

Google "the only band that matters" and see the results.

Never saw The Clash, but I did see Joe Strummer perform on his own.

@Builder,
My brother and I saw him at the NY Piers in, God, it must've been '83 (?). JJ performed Is She Really Going Out With Him? acapella. Also saw the Waitresses, Talk Talk, and Elvis Costello there. That was an amazing concert series.
