A builder needs to extend a rectangular floor measuring 6 feet by 8 feet so that the number of square feet in the area of the floor increases by 72 square feet. If each of the original dimensions is increased by the same number of feet, what are the dimensions of the new floor?

This is my equation set up for the above question:

(x + 8) (x + 6) = 72

What is the correct equation that can lead me to the right answer?

(x+8)(x+6) = (6)(8) + 72

& you're welcome
