I like kickboxing

Anyone else like watching kickboxing? I’ve been practicing kickboxing for almost ten years now. I’ll bet I could drop kick a quarter off someone’s head without messing up their hair. Razz

What about you? Anyone every enroll in a self-defense class?

I'm too old to take it up, but I watch the Glory kickboxing several times a week.

1. Many years ago, I had some martial arts training.

2. I'm certain I've forgotten much of what I had learn.

3. Some things I do remember.

4. I still remember some throws and takedowns.

5. I remember some chokes.

6. I think I remember some wrist locks.

7. I still remember some knee strikes and elbow strikes.

8. Being that I have not actually trained in any of those things in many years,
I probably no longer have the same level of skill and techniques.

Because I'm much older now, my physical abilities are not the same
as they once were.

1. Although it was many years ago, I didn't train very long.

2. I may have trained on and off for possibly a year, maybe 18 months.

3. My training wasn't continuous. It was on and off.

4. It was so long ago, I'm not sure how long I trained.

My brother once worked for the Post Office.

The rule there (small village) was to paper-tape all packages.

He really got irked when people brought in packages that were bound with rope, string, cord, etc.

So he booted them around.

He was an expert tied-box kicker...

Our oldest son wants to take up martial arts but he’s not sure which one. There are several different types of Karate, We’re going to set up an appointment and talk to one of the counselor’s for the best option for his age and a beginner.

4. His age may be a determining factor of what style of martial arts is best for him to take,

My best love is traditional boxing. I listened to a few fights by Joe Louis and Floyd Patterson on the radio as a kid. Kickboxing is what I watch now. Cage fighting doesn't do it for me. Too much what I call dirty fighting. I don't like it when a person gets pinned to the deck and the man on top pounds his face with both fists until the ref finally decides it's over.
