Please post here if you're german.
I'm sorry, we don't allow Germans here . . .
Well, there's Walter, but he's a really nice guy, so we don't mind . . .
There is Thomas, but he's so pushy, you get tired of telling him to go away and being ignored . . .
Calamity Jane is German, or so she claims, but she lives in California now, so we let her slide . . .
Then there's Hamburger, but he lives in Canada, and you know how those guys are . . .
Ul doesn't post that much, so we pretend we don't notice . . .
Bigdice hasn't posted in quite a while, i'm starting to get worried about him . . .
Anyway, no Germans, we don't allow it.
lol.....in the us there are 60 million ppl who are german or with most german ancestry. So throw them all out.... lol
in canada there are 2,75 million germans...
Do the Canadians know this?
No wonder there's so many doughnuts . . .
I heard from bigdice and urs within the past two weeks. Nothing to worry about there. Not worried about Thomas, either. He won't post unless he sees something he finds very interesting.
My parents were born in Germany. They're Canadians now.
There are some visiting Germans in Canada. We can't seem to close the border tightly enough against them.
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will
be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was
the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English
spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in
plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make
the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of
"k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to
reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments
will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a
deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is
disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with
"z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou"
and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu
understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze
forst plas.
If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl

Yes, German by birth, American by passport, Californian by
choice.
Angela Merkel looks good on your avatar. She finally shaped
up for the upcoming election ha?
Setanta did not mention me!!!! I am hurt! But maybe mentioning BigDice counts... Anyway, as Roger said BigDice is fine. BUT - he is not German! He is a Swede living in Germany.
Yes, CJ, Angela really looks good now. She wears nice clothes, her hair looks pretty good - she even wears makeup!
Oh, sorry, iceberg! I am usually a polite person... Hi and welcome to A2K!
