Religious Science?

Is there such a thing as religious science or a science that helps to promote a religious belief system?

@Jasper10,
No there isn't. It's a little like asking which is more holy, hot water or cold water?

Basically, that’s an anathema. Religion is based on faith. Science is not based on faith or opinion …or on beliefs. This has been explained to you repeatedly on this forum so why keep drilling the same hole?

@Ragman,
Why isn’t science based upon faith or opinion….or on beliefs Ragman?

@Jasper10,
Surely a theory remains a faith; opinion; belief until it is definitively proven.

@Ragman,
Because he misread If by Rudyard Kipling.

If you can keep your head while all about you are losing theirs, you've probably misunderstood the situation.

@Jasper10,
Theology, but it's not really a science.

@Jasper10,
As a single Big Bang hasn’t been definitively proved for the beginning of it all,which is why it is called a theory, then it remains a faith;opinion;belief that could still be used to support a wider faith;opinion;belief.Therefore,how can religion and and science be unrelated?

@Jasper10,
Well there you go, it's a wonderful opportunity for you to start another church that's absent of everything Jesus believed and taught. This type of hypocrisy is the reason so many people abandon religion , it's just too much to ask them to believe or follow self proclaimed religious leaders who are so utterly confused about the truths of Christianity.

@Jasper10,
I believe I was clear in my previous post.

A single BB is a scientific theory only and remains a faith;opinion;belief until definitively proven.

It’s a theory that could be used to justify a wider faith;opinion;belief.

If you disagree then please explain why.

Deflecting isn’t an explanation.

Science and religion are two different universes that can never meet.

Science is objective and is corrupted by subjective feelings interfering with the testing.

Religion is based on experience and is corrupted by attempting to become objective. Religion is expressed through metaphor, and the metaphors tend to be misunderstood and taken literally.

Science strives to attain knowledge, and Jesus taught to look into areas that advocate the attainment of a specific kind of knowledge.

@coluber2001,
My opinion is that scientific theories which have never been definitively proved (which makes them faith;opinions;beliefs only) are used to promote religions.

My opinion is that all scientific theories fall into this category.
