Isn't is similar to the human species?
In divorces, men get eaten by the female. The laws are construed to be that way, almost always catering to the female, with regard not only to the assets, but also with regard the the children's custody. To cement this reality, the courts seem to look at women as 'entitled' to do this treachery. Legally, men are the subservient sex.

The laws are in place so the kids get to live the same lifestyle before the marriage broke down, and why shouldn't they get swimming classes, decent clothes and food?
