Not quite. Thank goodness.
We talked to some meteorologist about it, evidently it was a "thunderstorm alley", same idea as tornado alley -- the storms were kind of herded right through there due to a few factors. And those two trees were the tallest in the immediate neighhborhood.
Anyway, I haven't seen the phrase "Lightning never strikes twice" in quite the same way since.
My whole house has AC but my room -- it stinks
