A bridge is built in the shape of a semielliptical arch. The bridge has a span of 120 feet and a maximun height of 25 feet. Choose a suitable rectangular coordinate system and find the height of the arch at distances of 10, 30 and 50 feet from the center.

First, find the equation for an ellipse. That equation includes constants for the lengths of the major and minor axes, which are given in the problem. Post back your best guess and we'll go from there.
