RIP Norm MacDonald

Norm MacDonald dies from cancer aged 61.

He wasn't really very well known on this side of the Atlantic but happily there's a treasure trove of material available on youtube. Just a genuinely funny man.

There was a plane crash and this one kid somehow survived. What I want to know is why don't they make the planes out of that kid?

I loved that guy. He was so laid back as a standup, and always smiling (whereas Stephen Wright and Pat Paulsen were deadpan). He was just charming.

Yes. Him, John Candy, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, etc etc etc. Those guys were all in the SCTV tv comedy show back in the day.

One of my favourite US tv comedies was Fernwood 2Night with Martin Mull and Fred Willard. There are some episodes on youtube. Very funny.

Norm McDonald was extremely popular among other comics.

I recall Howard Stern would book him and norm was funny, much more so than Gilbert Godfreid
