He was 84. The oldest generation of rock 'n rollers is going, folks. I suspect we'll lose most, if not all of them, before the next decade starts.

I well remember their first hit - Bye Bye Love. Our local DJ loved it. When they followed it up with Wake Up Little Suzie, he was outraged and quit playing them. I have some of their 45s and a big orange vinyl of their hits - a British pressing.

Dream dream dream was the most modern record in my mother’s collection, in sharp contrast to everything else.

It's hard to find fault with the Everly Brothers, they were harmonious, smooth, very lively and fun to listen to. There are many fabulous musicians, some are long gone but I'm grateful we can still access their music.
