Hey guys,
Was wondering if someone could help out, and point me in the right direction. My soulmate and I are living in Canada right now, and just beginning our move to Hungary (where he's originally from) tommorrow morning. He'll be there Thursday, and I'll be in Hungary on August 3rd. I'm just going there as a visitor, but will be staying bare minimum of 18 months.
My soul mate doesn't have permanent residency status in Canada yet, which is one of the reasons we're leaving. Everything for his pemanent residency status is already underway, and we're sure he's going to get it, but it's going to take probably 18 months before he's allowed back in Canada. Once he leaves Canada, he's gone until he gets permanent residency status.
I'm just a bit worried about ending up in a position where I'm banned from the EU for being there illegally, and he's unable to enter Canada. I own a small online software company, and have had a registered corporation in Canada since 2001, so I don't need a job or schooling in the EU. I just make money online, then will spend it within the country for rent, and whatever.
Any advice? Should I just say hell with it, life live as a visitor, and hope I don't get banned from the EU at some point? I'm going to be travelling back and forth between Canada quite a bit, and we'll be travelling all over Europe lots, so I'll be passing through borders quite a bit. If it helps any, we're legally married in Canada.
Is there anything I can do to fairly easily get say a 24 month VISA, or anything to that effect? No work permit, or anything like that is required. Any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
Perhaps this site about
basic Visa regulations is of some help.
Normally, crossing borders of Schengen countries (that are some 15 Euroepan countries) is done without showing any papers or even stopping at the border.
This isn't nowadays always the fact.
I wouldn't advice you to extent a visitor's visa (extremely).
