People have no problems accepting a single mother at their word. We end up with lots of follow up questions. Unfunny comedian Catherine Ryan did a whole routine about how the single fathers she meets aren't single fathers at all.

I blame Max and people like him, he wouldn't shut up about being a single father despite only having his kid at weekends.

When I challenged him he blamed semantics claiming he fitted his own definition of single parent despite living a bachelor existence five days a week.

Max was full of heights of achievement that just never really cleared the ground.

I was the custodial parent of my two daughters from their early teens. Weekdays and weekends most of the time. It's the one accomplishment of which I am inordinately proud: I think I may have been a pretty good dad.

If Max even "dadded" on every weekend, I'd be pleasantly surprised. My ex didn't even keep up the health insurance, let alone take the girls on even 15 weekends a year.

There are a number of posters who have been banned for inappropriate behaviour.

Some of them come back with different user names.

One of them would regularly pm me with abusive and threatening messages full of racism, homophobia and all round bigotry.

That tends to make a person a bit wary of new arrivals.

It has nothing to do with you.

Finished reading Flag in Exile by David Weber, in the Honor Harrington series. Liked it. Didn't understand much of the descriptions of space battles, though.
