Three thoughts from Amanda Gorman's poem, The Hill We Climb:
Somehow we’ve weathered and witnessed a nation that isn’t broken,
but simply unfinished.
...we lift our gazes not to what stands between us, but what stands before us.
So while once we asked, ‘How could we possibly prevail over catastrophe?’ now we assert, ‘How could catastrophe possibly prevail over us?’
Just three thoughts.
Just three lines from a poem.
They seem to me to be profound.
@Frank Apisa,
Reading your post and listening to the poem being read on CBC radio as I read! I have heard it multiple times now and am moved every time.
@Tai Chi,
her future is very bright...
@Region Philbis,
Why did you have to say that?
Over here a mobile phone company had an advertising slogan that went, “The future is bright, the future is orange.”
Which now makes me think of you know who.
@izzythepush,
well i didn't say anything about wearing shades, so there's that...
