What I want from the Biden Administration

Biden will have the House and the Senate, but by the narrowest of margins. He will come into power with a deeply divided country, and the end of a pandemic with a large scale vaccination effort.

What I want from Biden is moderation and competence.

1) His primary task is to see us through the end the pandemic and build back up businesses.

2) I would like him to move to rejoin the international community on climate change and trade. I don't want him to push any further than Obama.

3) I want him to take a centrist position on social justice. He should support a moderate path toward police reform while resisting the calls of "defund the police" from the left.

4) I want the same economic policy we had under Obama. Nothing less, nothing more. He should listen to economic advisers on fiscal policy as we come out of the pandemic and resist anything radical from the left.

5) I think he should limit what is on his plate. I don't think that he should push on issues like health care beyond solidifying what already exists.

That's what I want from Biden. A boring, competent administration and a chance to catch our breaths. Maybe we can pull together a centrist coalition that joins moderate Republicans with moderate Democrats.
