What is the number of square units in the area of square ABCD
if AB = x - 1 and BC = 5x - 13.

Do I use Area = side squared?

Yes, but you need to know the length of a side.

Hint: all sides are equal in length, so AB = BC.

I can find it now. I need to find x first and then use the area of a square formula.
