Which sentence is clearer and a better choice:

The carpet is scheduled for installation the end of next week.
or
The carpet installation is scheduled for the end of next week.

@LBrinkmann,
They’re both alright, but I would include at in the first sentence.

The carpet installation is scheduled for installation at the end of next week.

The second sentence is fine.

The only criticism I would have is that it’s a bit vague, when is it going to be installed, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or even Sunday?

End of the week can mean different things to different people, you’re better off being more specific.
