My favorite memory of my first Cat takes place in south Central Maine. I had a Cat named Sam. He was a yellow tiger striped cat. One day in the fall, as a young boy of about 8, I was playing in the rolling fields by my parents home. There while laying in the tawny tall swaying grass my cat walked through the tall hay and came and rubbed my face. It was quite a distance from home and there while just laying watching the swaying tall grass against the deep fall sky almost invisible my cat wandered into my moment. And hense my relationship to cats has always been good. One place in particular that was the most exciting was the winters I spent on Crete. There you could find your self out in the wilds and find friends in the stray summer cats. I used to carry cat food in my pocket for occasions when I ran into a cat. One time I ran into a cat sea side and feed it the last few biskets I had in my pocket. Then I carried this stone mimetolith to the top of a very trecherous rocky outcrop. What amazedme is that the cat followed the entire journey up which must have been a halk kilometer of difficult passage to place the rock at the top in order to make a photograph of it. I almost feel and dropped the rock several times going up. Some places you had to jump over 1 foot divides going up. Well this cat did it. I could not stop laughing at what a thing I have never seen a cat do before. She had the most magnificent tiger eyes as well. Well we sat up top for a good 15 minutes her purring all around me sharing the place in moment. Then as I explored and returned to certain other famously touristed places during the summer and completely deserted places in the winter. You can find starving cats in these remote places who are so desperate that the first time I found some on a remote tourist site, The only thing left at the Cantina was bottles of Ketchup in the fridge. I would pour the ketchup on the floor and these cats in a frenzy of meows so deep and sobing and ravenous. They were really close to mental when I found them.
So I decided to return to this place called Preveli. To arrive one most go to a remote parking lot and then go down 3000 man made steps to the beach at the end of a gorge with a real river flowing out from the Gorge. Rare in the Greek Islands.
So the next time I went down 10 days later I heard a weak Cats cry from the bamboo storage shack. Whish was paddelocked shut. Well I managed to pull the botton of the door open enough and lets this small so totally dazed cat out of the shed. Must have got locked in there when the locals where there checking up on things.
So I let the cat out and there were 3 other starved cats about an they are crazed. I give them the dog food I am carring now and they ravenously while deeply moaning in a way I have never heard before a whale so deep and disturbing. So they eat and about 40 minutes later they become totally normal. Now they follow me all over the beach. Also into the deep palm tree forest through the many paths that go up the ravine beside this natural river. It is indeed so very good. When eventually I leave a few 3 hours later the cats are so keen on me the actually follow me up the first 25 steps looking for some more food. I find a final biscuit in my pocket for them and continue this routine once a week for a few months that I am there.

This is my first cat Shilo. She died 10 years ago. She lived to be 16 years old. I found her as a stray living in dumpsters in downtown Portland. She followed me home one day and the rest was history. She was around for the best of my childhood years. My grandmother was kind enough to let me burry her on her property out in the country.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. I'm pretty sure about the Siamese part, her personality fits that mold. I asked a veterinarian once if she could be part persian because of her fluffy fur and tail and he said yes. But I've researched pictures of Himalayans as well and she does look Himalayan.

She was given to me for free when she was a year old and I don't know much about her history before then, so I guess I'll just have to stick with fluffy Siamese.
