Aw, I'm so sorry to hear this, Reyn. A terrible decision to have to make, I know. He was a beauty, wasn't he? :
Yes, indeed. We're grateful he made it to the age that he did, but it's hard when you realize it's time to let go, when a pet is going through hardship.
As all cat owners know, cats are very good at masking their symptoms, and Kory was no exception. He didn't appear to be that ill, but had a massive infection (worst ever), which caused other problems eventually.
Vivienne and I will will be sitting down and a memory will surface. This morning, it was the pet name "Bleach Boy" that came up. For some reason, Kory loved the smell of bleach, which most cats would detest. For him, it was like catnip. Of course, tears came to our eyes.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how hard that decision can be. Hugs to you and yours.
Thank you for posting your condolences. I've never had to make a decision like that before, and it was my wife who concluded it was best, first. She was very resolute in that, and I came to the realization that she was right. The vet, while trying to be helpful, was, I believe, giving us false hope. Not uncommon, I guess.

Thinking of you and feel for your sadness right now . Rock shed some tears when he read your thread. Knows how sad you must be feeling right now. He can't imagine life without his kitties. (((((Reyn and Vivienne))))
Take care. Love to y'all. x
Thanks again, Izzie and Rock. Other pet owners can appreciate the loss of a beloved pet. One can become so bonded with them.
Those are lovely photos of your cats. Thanks for showing me what your pets look like. They look very affectionate!
With Kory, every time Vivienne would lie down for a nap, there he was at her side.
There was never any mistaking that Kory was in the room. He was a real attention-hound.
I always found him to be very obedient. If he was doing something he shouldn't and you told him to stop, he did - at least for the next 5 minutes, like chasing his sister, Kira.
But, life goes on, and we'll have to find a way to live with the hole that our guy left.
Thanks again to everyone who posted. It's nice to hear from folks.
