Below is a question that involves both geometry and algebra.

How do you divide a 4 by 9 rectangle into three non-rectangular polygons which may be fitted together to form a 6 by 6 square?

I drew a few rectangles and squares but just came up short everytime.

MY WORK:

r = rectangle

s = square

Area of r = lw = 36

Area of s = side square = 36

Do I divide r by s? If so, r/s = 36/36 = 1

I have no clue. Is this correct? Help...
