Half true: Once, I talked my way (not completely out of a ticket) but to a lesser charge from getting a speeding ticket where I would have been cited for driving 20 miles over the speed limit to having the speeding ticket for a later stretch of the road where the same speed I was travelling only had me driving 10 miles above the speed limit. I didn't say very much. Just looked pitiful and the cop took pity on me. Saved me a lot of money.

Long walk? True. Walked around the city for an hour rather then take a bus.
