WHEN TRUMP LOSES IN NOVEMBER…

…my guess is he will claim that he did not want to win, but was always aiming at going back to private life to make more money and play more golf…things he will claim he has had to curtail severely by taking on the job of being president. He will proclaim that his “generosity to the people” by being their leader had to end because of the unrelenting unfairness of the “liberal media” and the stupidity of the ignorant left.

He will almost surely claim he was hounded from office by an ungrateful, vocal minority that simply refused to acknowledge the “greatness” he brought to the position.

His supporters will wholeheartedly buy into that narrative…and the rest of us will see it for the claptrap it is.

He will then put on that usual look of disdain for the common masses that cause him to seem a caricature of Benito Mussolini…and pretend to stalk from the world’s stage. Then he will Twitter this country into as much turmoil as possible until he finally “leaves the building” the way each of us will one day.

@Frank Apisa,
I imagine seeing him over the years, volunteering at Red Cross events, dressing up like Santa Claus at an orphan's hospital, chipping in with Jimmy Carter to help build low-cost housing, hawking Trump merchandise, and generally comporting himself as a respected former president. Maybe we can look forward to his singing a few verses of "My Way" at celebrity charity shindigs.

@Frank Apisa,
Thats the problem with democracies. The nixons could always stage a comeback.
I remember nixons 1990 draft of him running again "HES TAN, HES RESTED, HES READY"
Trump , im afraid, will not go away quietly. I maintain that , should the election take long to count an verify, and should it be close, trump will attempt to raise turmpol and claim fraud and try to claim the whitehouse by his malevolent being.
Hes evil and, as such, theres nothing he would stoop to doing to keep from facing the music of post presidential felony charges. His un tested charges of the emoluments clause, already have him by the shorties, and he wont have asympathetic republican president to pardon him.

@farmerman,
Can you imagine him as one of the living ex presidents. Im certain he will not be a quiet ex president. He will still have secret service guys about him.

Maybe he can be useful at supermarket openings and circus arrivals

Only if they do not want people to take the circus too seriously.

He is a blight on our Republic who will continue to exist as a blight until he dies...and then will continue to exist as a blight on the Republic in memory.

@Frank Apisa,
I think we will overcome. We have a history of a great sense of humor. Im sure there are stand-ups who are honing trump ex potus routines. If the germans could rise above Hitler, Trump will be a piece of cake (I just hope his last hurrahs arent in trying to steal the presidency by contesting the election. I hope our armed forces are patriot enough to escort him out of the white house

Given that he is allowing Putin to place bounty on US soldiers heads I would not be too concern about them supporting a coup by him.

@longly1,
My god all manners of economic warfare just to start with and not just by us but by our NATO partners.

Second killing American soldiers by putting on a bounty on their heads is an act of war.

@longly1,
I was a 10 year old when Kennedy blocked the Russian missiles from entering Cuber. I ws in my 30's when GHW Bush smashed Sadaam Husseins Army to small bite size chunks.
fear we wont have tht kind of president for another generation. We sure dont have one now. Instead Weve got an insane version of Neville Chamberlain .

When Mr. Trump leaves office in 2025, the American people will elect another Republican to continue his legacy.

@farmerman,
I’m no fan of Chamberlain, but at least he tried to act like a statesman. He was motivated by the right reasons, he was ineffective. He tried to keep the peace.

Trump is something else entirely a blowhard narcissist who only thinks of himself.

@izzythepush,
In addition to trying to keep the peace, he also used his time in office to build the UK's military into something that could resist the Nazis.

@farmerman,
Your incompetence with firearms is quite profound. You really do know nothing about anything.

@izzythepush,
Did he have no idea that appeasement merely deferred the start-up date for actual war with Germany??. Appeasement was in effect since the erly 1930s but Chmberlain seemingly hqd no plans other than to try to hasten Germany's attacks on Russia. I dont know whether that ws Chmberlain or others who really were more effective. Im not sure where he was "building up" defenses from German attacks??

Maybe installing radar along the S coast and getting the Spitfire in greater production? (although the Spit was well into final testing before he bcame PM)

@farmerman,
Like I said I’m no fan of Chamberlain’s. I just thought despite all his shortcomings it’s unfair to compare him to Trump.

My understanding was Chamberlain reflected the public mood. There was a strong anti war sentiment at the time which is why Churchill stood out. He was the only one speaking out against Hitler.
