A new idea for experimenting with social psychology:
Experiment name: Environmental noise
We will examine whether the feeling of noise is subjective.
1. Noise from a place I have no control over such as noise from a busy road (uncontrolled).
2. Noise from neighbors' music (controlled).
The assumption is that noise from mode 1 will not affect me while noise from mode 2 will affect me, i.e. will bother me.

One person's noise is another person's happy sound.

For example, the sounds of trains make me nearly ecstatic. Others find the sounds of trains quite bothersome and for them it is just noise.

I love the sound of trains, ocean waves, and thunderstorms.....and ducks and geese flying north and south. Does that mean I'm a floozie?

Well, I guess it might. Lucky me, I am not good with thunderstorms so I am so very much not a floozie...

Always wanted to live alongside an active railroad. Trains going by regularly, day and night. It would be even better if there was a station within a few hundred yards. I like the start and stop sounds too.

I always sleep well during a thunderstorm. I think it’s all to do with how our ancestors survived back in the day. If there’s a storm blowing outside the tiger is less likely to be on the prowl.
