Hey all,

I am new to this forum and dont know if this is the place to be to ask.

But i need help with a reasonable easy math problem. I am trying different stuff but cant figutre it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well ok here goes :

Triangle ABC

With A-B = 50mtr
And C laying on the other side of a river. The question is how big is the river from shore to shore.

Corner from BAC = 52 degrees
And Corner ABC = 68 degrees.

My answer came on : 63.98 meters.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark

Hey mark
I got an answer of 42,18. (I think its right)
I dropped a perpendicular from C to AB. Name the base of perpendicular D. Let AD=x, therefore BD=(50-x).
Then find tanA and tanB. You now have two equations and you can solve for x. Then you just have to plug it back in to find out CD(the width of the river) Smile
