Ln means the logarithm base e, so ln(e)=1

using the rules of exponents

1) ln(e^(1/2))=(1/2)ln(e)=(1/2)*1=1/2
2) ln(e^3)=3ln(e)=3*1=3

I forgot that Ln(e) = 1. Now the questions are remarkably easy.
