I would be surprised if this had occurred in any other administration. Sadly (and somewhat expectedly, given the current W.H. dweller's tactics) I am not particularly surprised.

That's where you consistently get it wrong. I do not want this president to fail, because we all fail with him. He does it all wrong on his own. Trust me: nobody in Illinois finds the buggery of Trump's Trumpvirus Czar Mile Pence sending the wrong masks funny. Do YOU find it funny?

President Obama said next to nothing about his predecessor. The same was true of George. Presidents in general do not finger point. Trump is not the only one to do this, he is though, the only one to do it so consistently and with such wild abandonment of decency and principles and so often with no proof or honesty from his flappy lips or miniscule fingers.
Aren't you afraid repeating that thing over and over will get you hidden?

What exactly is the difference between an N95 mask and a surgical mask?
I assume it is to keep pathogens out, whereas a surgical masks keeps the surgeon from breathing on exposed body tissues, but how does the N95 do that exactly?
I only play a doctor in the movies. All I know is the experts say these are exactly the wrong masks. I bet if you google it, you'd get a better grasp of the technicalities involved. I don't need to know why the clock is broken. I only need to see its broken.

Then how do you know that people aren't just whining for more expensive masks that they don't really need? If you're interested in the topic, why don't you bother to figure out the reasons for what's going on?
