Do Media Content Producers Consider Their Political-Economic Effects?

Reading through the headlines is more interesting when you think about the broader political-economic implications and effects the news can have.

Especially as Corona-news has become intertwined with market trends and governmental spending politics, do you wonder how much content-producers think about the effects their content has on politics/policy?

Certainly they do, and it's obvious that many people always just want more spending without any thought to negative consequences such spending brings, but does anyone think about how provoked-spending invites further provocations in the future?

It is good to deal with problems, but when you set precedents that more problems will result in more spending, the resulting synergy between the desire for money and the will to exaggerate and/or even generate problems for the sake of fiscal stimulus becomes a problem in and of itself.

Barry Glassner's classic book, Culture of Fear, dealt with this synergistic phenomenon between media, public awareness, and politics/economics; but how aware are media producers today of such effects and how does such awareness factor into their decision-making regarding content?
