Hi

I have a problem with a task to determine a circular cylinders volume. It's volume is 1000 cm^3 and they want me to determine it's area. It's diametre is the same as it's height.

V = pi x r^2 x h
1000 = 3,14 x r x r x h
1000 ~ 3,14 x 5,42 x 5,42 x 10,8

It's area: 2pi x r x h + 2 x pi x r^2

6,18 x 5,42 x 10,84 + 6,18 x 5,42 x 5,42 = 544,64

Is this the right kind of solution for this kind of task? What misses and what could I learn from this kind of tasks e.g if I were to take a SAT? Very intresting, anyone had a similar experience to this?
