ok .... lets say i bought a tv and the total price with GST is $1506.35 , knowing that GST is 7% , i need to find out the total price of the tv before GST included. if someone could give me answer with the formula = ) thanks !!!! ASAP !!
If C is the list price and S is the GST(in %), the amount you pay is T=(1+S/100)*C
Since you are starting with the amount payed (T=$1506.35) and the GST (Gross sales Tax?) at 7%. then the cost is figured by a little algebraic rearangement
T=(1+S/100)*C
or
C=T/(1+S/100)
now put in the numbers
S=7% so
1+S/100=1+.07=1.07
T=$1506.35
C=$1506.35/1.07=$1407.80 (rounding to the nearest cent)
