Can "will" replace "would"?

There's no such word as "remainain", as I'm sure a quick look in a dictionary would confirm.

Can " will" replace "would" in the above sentence? If so, is there a difference in meaning?

Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
They mean different things. Will implies sureness. Would implies a doubt, with the possibility that the speaker could be wrong. Here, it's a rather small difference, but it's still a difference.

Hmm, I see the difference in using "would," which is conditional in this context, as meaning that confirmation is conditional upon a quick look in a dictionary.

Like jespah says, "will" implies sureness.

@tanguatlay,
"would is the past tense form of will. Because it is a past tense, it is used:

to talk about the past
to talk about hypotheses (when we imagine something)
for politeness."
