I can be working along at a project or task that requires some focus, when suddenly my mind is preoccupied by weird, really off-the-wall dreamlike thoughts having absolutely nothing to do with whatever I am working on.
It is not "daydreaming" in the sense of distraction or consciously thinking about something other than the task at hand.
It is involuntary -- it strikes me as not much different from actual night-time dreaming but with my eyes open.
When this happens, unless I get up and walk around I will nod off, eventually.
What's up with that? Have others had similar experiences?
It is weird, alarming, and annoying.
How about getting a complete checkup?
My friend had similar symptoms and was diagnosed with narcolepsy.
