Are shoes and boots becoming less roomy for high insteps and wide feet ?

Hi,

I have extra wide feet and a high instep. I've been looking for new winter boots for 2 years, and recently am even encountering the same problem with shoes. In both cases, even when I ordered the exact same make and model that I currently have. In all cases, they are too tight, especially around the tops of my feet.

Is this a trend ? i.e. it seems that the industry has changed the way they make footwear - snugger with less room on top especially. Does anyone else have this problem ?

Thanks

@iGUB,
It's been rather much this way for the most part (at least for me), for some 30-40 years.

@iGUB,
Providing consumers a wide choice of different sizes lowers the profitability for the manufacturer.
