Favorite Lines From Beatles Songs

Okay, please don't make this a thread where everyone just pastes in complete songs. Let's try to concentrate on just a couple lines at a time, if possible. Thanks.

Dear Prudence...for some reason that song is just in my head today.

I love this line.

The sun is up the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you

So simple and perfect.

And here's another one. I like it, but I've never really been sure about what it means...

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make

Think about it.

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make

that's my favorite as well Kicky and I find it perfectly self explanatory.

For No One

Your day breaks, your mind aches,
You find that all her words of kindness linger on,
When she no longer needs you.

The Ballad of John and Yoko

The newspapers said,
She's gone to his head,
They look just like two Gurus in a drag.

She's Leaving Home

Silently closing her bedroom door
Leaving the note that she hoped would say more

It's the part about taking love that gets me. It doesn't seem right. Do you really take love? Isn't it given to you? How do you take love?

So...how does one take love? Is the word take being used in the sense of tolerating something? Is it like you can only take up to a certain amount of love, and when you've taken all you can stand, that is equal to the love you make?

Hmmm...

In Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds I love many of the colorful descriptions in this song, but since Kicky will only allow a line, here is my favorite:
"Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies"

And On Come Together - I also love lots of the lines, but here is probably my favorite.
"He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola"

They have many great lyrics.

So does everyone agree with me that all their best lines and lyrics were actually written by John Lennon, and NOT Paul McCartney?

Okay, but you know, you can quote a couple lines if you want...I just didn't want this to be one of those threads...you know, the ones where everybody posts a whole damn song, and it just gets to be too much. You know what I mean?

as you wish, Twisted Evil

Back in school again Maxwell plays the fool again
Teacher gets annoyed
Wishing to avoid an unpleasant scene-e-e-ene
She tells Max to stay when the class has gone away
So he waits behind
Writing fifty times "I must not be so-o-o-o"
But when she turns her back on the boy
He creeps up from behind

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
came down upon her head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
made sure that she was dead

They're talking about the love you take with you into the next world...that's why the song is called The End.....If you have given much love in this world you get to take much love with you...if you have not you don't ...... it's a karma statement ....get it now?

You need to smoke more obviously Laughing

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
