Hey guys, i'm new here! so hello everyone!

would any chemistry wizz's be able to help me out with this problem...?

i just don't see why the formal charge on the sulphur atom is zero, i thought i would be +3.

damn i can't attach pictures in these forums Sad

well i'll describe the molecule to you then...

its got a sulphur as the central atom with 4 oxygens surrounding it.

Thanks Guys Smile

coz the formal charge of a S8 molecule is 0

SO4 has a 2- charge....

S has 6, 4 Os have 8... with the overall charge of 2-...
6+8+(-2)= 12

am i correct?
