Solve for the variable.

b) 5 (6 - x) + 2.5 ( x + 2) = 25

c) 0.7 (m - 10) = -6

d) 1.8 (2n - 5) = -12.6

a) 3b - 2b + 17 + (1/4)b = 18

b + 17 + (1/4)b = 18

b + (1/4)b = 1.

(5/4)b = 1.

b = 4/5.

b) 5 (6 - x) + 2.5 ( x + 2) = 25
30-5x+2.5x+5 = 25
35-25 = 2.5x
x = 4

c) 0.7 (m - 10) = -6
m-10 = -6/0.7
m = 1.43(3sig. fig.)

d) 1.8 (2n - 5) = -12.6
2n-5 = -12.6/1.8
n = -1
